The closed ghetto was only temporary (some 25 days). It was closed with
wires (barbed or straight) on wooden scaffolding
mainly on the intersection of the streets. On several places, you could (if
you knew) cross through the backside courts to
streets that were outside the ghetto. These passages were, of course,
looked up by the authorities and closed when found.
After the deportations to Transnistria in November 1941ended, all the
temporary closure was removed. There never were any
solid walls.
