Dear Ilana
There is a spoonful of flour in my Omis cake, (Perla Korenberg from Lentesti) and as I need to avoid flour for my grand daughter I will make it with rice flour. But I guess the kosher version would have been with Matzo flour. No butter or other fat, though, which is why i believe it can be kosher if all other requirements are met. I have never grew up kosher myself, but I have picked up the rudiments of the rules over the years. My mother (Hermine Hellmann, nee Furhmann) never made it to my knowledge - it skipped a generation and I became the next baker in the family.
When I have made the cake again in the next few days I will send the recipe.
Look forward to comparing notes.
Happy New Year 2021 to all. It needs to do better than 2020.

Hi Karin,
My mother, Victoria Gedaly Gruber, was also the Omi in our family and her signature cake was a flourless chocolate cake that used nuts instead of flour. She always made it on Pesach. I wonder if its the same and will be excited to see your recipe . My grandmother, Regina Gedaly, who was born in Czernowitz, was an amazing baker and cook as well but Im honestly not sure if our Omi recipe came from my maternal grandmother or my paternal grandmother who was from Lvov and also an incredible cook and baker. My paternal grandparents owned a famous bakery in Lvov. I will share my recipe as well.
Regards,
Ilana
