Hello all
I just spend a very enjoyable hour going through the recipes and stories. Many recipes are familiar to me have eaten them as a child even if not cooked them myself. Thank you to all the cooks and editors!
I do have a wonderful recipe which is not among the deserts in the cookbooks you have put together. I have worked it out from memory, aided by a recipe I found on line - This was my grandmothers (Omis) most celebrated cake and I watched her make it many times. She was a very good cook and particularly made brilliant cakes. I found it one day in a coffee shop in Slovenia when my husband ordered chocolate cake and it was just the same chocolate walnut. It brought tears to my eyes.
I have made it (before and after the Slovenian experience) and would love to share it with everyone. It is kosher which I only realised once I found the vary similar one on line it has no butter so can be eaten at any time.
Let me know if there is any interest and I will dig it out..
Best wishes
Karin

We need a Czernowitz cookbook. Who is up for it?

[Moderator's note: The list did this a few years ago! But there's always room for more recipes. First check the contents of the four volumes assemble by Michele Troup and Merle Kastner:
