Hi George,
Sending you my most sincere condolences - your father was a very special person. Over the years he contributed very thoughtfully to group conversations, and in personal emails as well. For those of you who didn't know, Alfred was a Professor Emeritus of Engineering at Georgia Tech University and also taught at MIT during the course of his career. You may find his obituary in the Atlanta Jewish Times here:
https://atlantajewishtimes.timesofisrael.com/obituary-alfred-schneider/
His life of finding ways to overcome hardships, seek out an education, and pass on a legacy to the next generation set an outstanding example for us and all around him.
May his memory always be for a blessing.
Your father will truly be missed.

Dear George,
This is so sad news. I would like to express my sincere condolences to you and the entire family. Your father, with whom I had the privilege to correspond more often over the past years, was a most distinguished man, cultured, generous and cosmopolitan looking back on an outstanding professional career. In February last year he was generous enough to provide us with photos from his private archives, which I published under the heading "Glimpses of Youth Activities in Pre-War Bucovina":

I will miss Alfred painfully. May his memory be for a blessing!

hello
i'm writing on behalf of my father Alfred Schneider, who passed away on August 20, 2020, at age 93. Dad was a member of your Czernowitz list serve, and passionate about researching the history of that community. Some of you may know him from his writing or in person. He was a remarkable man, and we'll miss him greatly.
