Is your family related to the Brunstein family in Czernowitz? They owned the main flour mill and he was Stadtrat (I think it was Wolf, son of Salamon Brunstein, one of the first two Jews to receive citizenship in Czernowitz). They were related to my Schwarzwald family by marriage. The Schwarzwald children's mother died young and their father more or less abandoned the children. The Brunstein's at the time had no children, they took in the two Schwarzwald brothers (Hermann and Daniel and looked after them very well - both the brothers had wonderful educations in Czernowitz and later good careers in government in Vienna). The Brunstein’s later also took in my great grandmother, Klara Schwarzwald. By this time the Brunstein’s had two children, Fritz and Dulia. My grandfather called the Brunstein’s Opi and Omi.
