I had family from Novaselitza many of whom emigrated to Peru, some in the
1920s, and others in the 1950s. Their family names were Goldenberg and
Hertenberg. In 2010 my husband and I visited Novaselitza. At that time we
met someone who said there were 10 Jews left. He took us to see a
crumbling but beautiful former synagogue.
