Edgar, What an excellent summary and listing of those interviewed – some familiar names, and many not so familiar. It’s a great reminder of some of the treasures of information out there, waiting to be uncovered – in some cases, waiting to be uncovered again. Thank you to Dr. Hausleitner for excellence in her work!

Warmest wishes,

Bruce

Czernowitzers...

I have just finished reading "Zwischen Pruth und Jordan - Lebenserinnerungen Czernowitzer Juden [Between Pruth and Jordan - Memoirs of Czernowitz Jews]. My friend and historian Dr. Mariana Hausleitner, together with her students, conducted interviews with Holocaust survivors from Bukovina who emigrated to Israel. The book, published in 2003, is an excellent example of how oral history can be used to convey a deeper understanding of the fate of our families from Bukovina.
