Hi,
my great grandfather were living near czernowitz. He was used to go to Vienna easily (but He worked in the railways), my grand father is born in czernowitz whereas his brother is born in Vienna (1917)
Plus his father (my great great grand father) was from suceava, lived in Czernowitz and died in Vienna before WWII.

Objet : [czernowitz-l] From Czernowitz to Vienna to Theresienstadt?

Hi Czernowitz-L members,

I have long been trying to discover the fate of my 2nd
great-grandfather Seinwel BINDER (sometimes BINDERER) of Czernowitz.
Most of his siblings are accounted for, which makes it all the more
frustrating. I have been unable to locate him in Czernowitz cemetery
or burial records, nor anywhere else... possibly until now.

I found a record for a person with the same name and age (down to the
exact month) in Yad Vashem's Central DB of Shoah Victims, but the
person is listed as living in Vienna during the war and was ultimately
deported to Theresienstadt.

Does anyone know whether this pathway is viable or even likely for
someone who lived in Czernowitz? Theresienstadt is usually described
as a camp for Austrian and Czech Jews, and I do not know why Seinwel
would have ended up in Vienna during the war.

Many thanks in advance for any insights you may be able to provide.

Best,
Jonah
