Czernowitzers...

Norbert Nadler was born in Czernowitz, Romania in 1922. In his testimony he recalls his family's socialist leanings; Soviet occupation; ghettoization in October 1941; deportations; arranging to flee with his entire family to Mogilev; forced labor for the Romanian army; ghettoization; improved conditions while working for the retreating German army; liberation by Soviet troops in 1944; being drafted with his brother into the Soviet army; deserting in Warsaw; returning to Romania; attending medical school; marriage; joining his family in Israel; and emigration to the United States:

On this basis, our good friend and fellow member Julie Dawson released the articles "Survival in the Ghetto of Moghilev-Podolsky - A Microhistorical Inquiry.":

This fits thematically with the documentary film "Forgotten Holocaust - A Journey to Transnistria", which had its premiere yesterday in Innsbruck. It's yet again Julie Dawson, who as Project Director of the Leo Baeck Institute, created "The Jewish Archives of Bukovina and Transylvania" in 2013-2019:

Thank you, dear Julie for your tireless commitment and Happy Hanukkah to you and yours!

P.S.: For her ongoing research, Julie is looking for LEBZELTER / LEPZELTER and LINDENBAUM in CHILE (and elsewhere). Do these names ring a bell?
