With the dreadful news we are all reading about the attack on Ukraine, I can at least report the following from my friend Haim Cohen. He has been in touch with our wonderful friend in Czernowitz, Zoya Danilovitch. She is OK right now, but even Ivano-Frankivsk (Stanislawow) about 40 miles away has been hit by missiles. She wrote to Haim: Hi, thanks for your care and concern. We are at loss ..do not know what to do. I have no family or friends in Romania and I cannot afford to stay at a hotel for a long time, it is too expensive for me. Hope for miracles ..
Haim offered to help her with hotel expenses in Romania and she considered the offer but opted to stay put for now. So far, she is OK. I hope it remains that way, and I’m also hoping for a quick end to this totally illegal, ghastly invasion.
