Jane Reifer has collected some interesting information on Horecza [used to be a suburb of Czernowitz, but I think it's now part of the city? -ed]. The material is just parked here for now as the site is under construction.

Horecza_1926.jpg is a group photo, about which Jane says:  [...  Here is an old family photo of mine from 1926. It is almost certain that the picture is of people all from Czernowitz. My grandfather, Paul Reifer, is the fourth from the left in the upper row.

I will send the back of the photo with my next e-mail, but it says:

The second item is an MS-Word document that should be accessible if you have Win98 or better with WordPad. Either WordPad orWord should open this, no problem as they both have E. European fonts by default. It contains notes about Horecza in more than several languages. Jane would no doubt be grateful if someone could do some translating on 'horecza.doc'.
