Members of the Rinzler family, c.1897.
This is a photo of Ilsabe (she signed the back of the photo as
Jute
Rinzler) and Bendit Rinzler while on an outing in Cecina in 1928.
Below: My grandfather's (Moishe Rinzler) birth
certificate. He was born in
Lenkovsty and the birth was registered in Sadgora. His birth was
considered illegitimate, probably because his parents were married only
by the rabbi and not in a civil ceremony.

Remarks |
|
|
[1] It doesn’t look like Privat here, but it could be a contraction of Kameral. There is consistently no period after Kral/Kmal, unlike Priv., which always has a period. But often a period was not used after a word contracted in the middle rather than cut off at the end.
[2] First part of name is washed out, but it could be Ilsabe, a variant of Elisabeth (from which Betty is derived).
[3] Again this is clearly different from Priv. in the previous column.
Below: This photo was among some photos of my
Rinzler relatives,
however, nobody knows who she is or if she is even a family member. On
the back someone has written by hand "This is my grand-maser before
three years. Shi lifes with us in the best conditions." (I love the
spelling and grammar and the shaytl, too!!). A stamp on the back of the
photo reads in part
"...Hrull, Cernauti, Heg.Ford.36." This is likely the photographer's
stamp. Perhaps someone can identify this woman?
