Photo #4

Photo #4 -- Again with Mr. Lowie, Mrs. Singer and Frau Director Meisler in the middle.  Matthias Zwilling is the third from the left, upper row.  Erika Luefschuetz holds the board. I sit right next to her. She died of cancer in Jerusalem.  We were in touch until the end.

Picture #5

I was the littlest girl so I am always down below. No cardboard.  This is the 4th grade.  Last grade before gymnasium for boys and lyceum for girls (which we were not to enter because of the Russian invasion).  The teacher to the left was called Mr. Fuchs, I think. I always hated math and this must be the reason I can't remember him so well.  The gentleman on the top was Mr. Tumuruc, our music teacher.  He once kicked me out of the class because he caught me singing a Czech text to a Rumanian song.  I don't know what got into me then, I really don't know any Czech at all!  One new face: Clothilde Cozenn (Tilly) a friend I loved.  Her mother was an opera singer in the U.S. and she was raised by her grandparents.  She's  the fourth from the left in the fourth row.

Picture #6

Picture #6 shows my paternal grandfather (died of malnutrition in Transnistria) with all his grandchildren.  Josef, top left lives here in Israel.  Peeking over grandpa's shoulder is Joli, also here in Israel.  Tight next to him is Maddy, the beauty of the family (the most magnificent blue eyes, blond hair) perished in the war at the age of 16.  Bottom row: my cousin Benno, here in Israel, very, very ill.  I am the baby, a few months old.  Next to me Bumi, my favorite cousin, brother of Maddy, who died three years ago in Israel (cancer).
