My father - Oscar Wolf - after returning from his service in WW1 was sent by his parents to study in Vienna. As he was always an active sportsman he joined there the Hakoah Vienna soccer team and when he returned home (in the early 1920ies) he became a member of the Czernowitz Maccabi soccer team. Later he became a leading member of the Maccabi Bukowina executive and was active among others in organizing delegations to the Maccabi games in what was then Palestine (which really was a way to bypass the British restriction on Immigration of Jews)
