1937. Carol and Sally in a forest in Czernowitz with their respective best friends - Paula Edelsberg and Marcus Gottfried. In an amazing coincidence, I met Marcus's Israeli son, Bob (Udi) Gottfried and wife Ofra in a tiny fishing village in Salvage Newfoundland in 2010. I only realized this coincidence after speaking to my mother the next day and then finding a dozen photos in her album. The Gottfrieds have lived in Thornhill Ontario for over 20 years and we are now great friends.
