1941 Semi-postal Romanian Issue (Odessa overprint) 22 June 1941 commeomorates the start of the invasion of the Soviet Union by the Germans (Operation Barbarossa). 16 October 1941 celebrates the Axis victory ending the siege of Odessa. The bottom of the stamps translate to: 'Holy War Against Bolshevism'. The bottom of the sheet (just under Odesa 16 Oct. 1941 translates to: 'Brothers in Arms'.
