The next house upstreet from ours was the 44.
There was a passage between the 46 and 44.
At the end of passage was a one story house where lived
the Pelz family family. We were friends with the two sons Arnie and
Gusti. The father worked at the Lehr soap factory.
Gusti the younger claimed to be the most clever boy on Ruska.
He also collected stamps. We used to swap.
Arnie the senior was an inventor.
He found out how to restore run down batteries,
    Top secret formula.
One day as I came in unannounced I found out.
He would put the old batteries in the oven to heat them up.
This brought back some life , very dim and short lived.
But an invention ,just the same..
