I wore them as a teen ager because my mother insisted. We were living in
Haifa at the time. Since it was during WWII I think they were reconstructed
from my father's pants. They were very itchy.

the trouser is indeed a "pumphose" that was very popular among Jews.
The Ukrainians or Ruthenians laughet at them nand called them "mojjna srate
tzelri rik".
