Thank you for your kind welcome to the group.

I will write more later, but I just want to mention that my husband's
grandparents were also from the area near Czernowitz - they were from what
is now called Hvizdets, in the Ukraine, but was at the time (end of 19th
c.) called Grodziec bei Kolumay, in Bukovina.

These were my husband's maternal grandparents, Mollie Goldfeld (maiden
name) and Louis Greenberg. Louis Greenberg's father was Gabriel
Greenberg. Mollie's mother's maiden name was Clara Tager, and her father
was Samuel Goldfeld.

Mollie and Louis emigrated to the U.S. in the early years of the 1900's -

In case anyone recognizes the names of these families.......
