Hello.
I believe this is a photo of my grandfather, Moses Reder, that lived in
Czernowitz with his family. He fought during WWI for the Austrian Army.
Can anyone help me identify the Army Unit that he was with? I understand
that men from Czernowitz had their own unit but I can not find information
about it.
I also tried to reach the Lviv Military archives, in Ukraine. Supposedly,
after the end of WWI, the military records of the Czernowitz soldiers were
sent to Lemberg (today, Lviv). Does anyone have suggestions on how to find
any information about the military record of Moses Reder? Last, but
certainly not least, if anyone has any information about family Reder from
Czernowitz, please contact me. Please note that this is NOT the same
family as the one that the artist Bernard Reder comes from. It is possible
that the two families were related but I am not aware of any direct and
immediate connection. My grandfather was a trunk maker (Kofferraumbauer).
Thank you.
Moshe Reder
