Hi Benjamin,

the difference in the angle is because you were shooting from the ground,
and this photo is taken from a considerable height (perhaps an elevated
platform or a watchtower). The prison is obscured by the barracks in this
view. I initially was not sure that this is in Czernowitz, but a couple of
architectural details convinced me. One is an external cornice between the
first and the second floor in the barracks building (

and can be seen in the left part of the right building. Second, is the
pyramidal roof in the back of the left wing of the Volksschule (
https://ic.pics.livejournal.com/dragos_olar/22526365/65335/65335_640.jpg) -
it is on the right in the discussed photo. The overall skyline is not
controversial - other tall buildings are outside of this view.
