She came to the U.S. in l894. Her father was Wolf Herman and his wife was
Anna Debra Tepper Herman. They all came from Sniatzyn, Austria a few miles from Czernowitz.

My grandmother Yetta used to say that as a girl she bathed in the Prut River.
Her sister was Lena Herman Pasternak. There is also rumor that the family could have also lived in Kolomea.

I would appreciate hearing from you out there regarding Czernowitz, Sniatzyn and/or Kolomea and what you know about them.
