<x-charset iso-8859-1>Dear Everyone!
My name is Anna Weitman and I'm new on this list.
My father was born in Przemysl, Poland in 1936. He and his parents and sister survived WW2 by hiding in catholic convents. Due to the hardships my father experienced during his childhood he has never talked about the past. Last year I started researching my family history in order to find out more about my roots. A couple of weeks ago I got a copy of a family tree made by my grandfather in the 1960's. In this tree I noticed that a relative named Fischel Weitman had stayed or lived in a place called Tschernowitz, Rumania and that he lived in Israel in the 60's. I've been trying to find out which town my grandfather was refering to. When searching the JewishGen web-site I noticed that "the Weitmann brothers (mills)" were mentioned in the Bukowina Yizkor Book. I also found the name Sissie Weitmann. This information has led me to believe that my grandfather might have been refering to Czernowitz, Rumania.
Any ideas or information out there ?
Best Regards/Anna Weitman, Sweden
