THE FAMILIES ARE DEFINITELY JEWISH. REMEMBER NAME MAY
ALSO BE SMERTH


THEY MAY MOVED INTO CZERNOVITZ REGION FROM GALICIA,


BUT ASSOCIATED PLACE NAMES ARE BIORY AND RUSS
MOLTAVICA, BOTH LISTED AS AUSTRIA NETHER OF WHICH I
HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TRACE

LISTED AT ELLIS ISLAND AS HEBREW


YET ALL FAMILY HAD VERY GERMANIC NAMES

GUSTAVA, JULIET, HERMAN, IGNATZ, WILHELM,

JULIET SMERTH WAS BORN IN BUKOVINA ON 28 JAN 1902, I
KNOW HARDLY ANYTHING MORE. BUT FAMILY MUST HAVE BEEN
FROM CLOSE TO CZERNOVITZ AND GALICIAN BORDER, SPOKE
MAYBE GERMAN AND YIDDISH AT HOME, WILHELM MAY HAVE
BEEN A FARM MANAGER AND WAS 29 IN 1907.

A GENERAL QUESTION, I WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS WITH
SOMEONE IF I MAY THE LIKELY BACKGROUND TO SUCH A
FAMILY IN THIS REGION AT THE TIME, BUT TO BE HONEST I
DO NOT HAVE TIME TO ENTER INTO LONG DICUSSIONS BECAUSE
THIS SUBJECT IS OF INTEREST TO ME FOR A BOOK I AM
WRITING, AND I CAN ONLY GIVE IT THE ATTENTION IT
MERITS FOR A PARAGRAPH OF TEXT, HENCE IF PEOPLE WHO
MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP COULD CONTACT ME DIRECTLY THAT
