Dear Jerome,
you are so wise in creating your own Czernowitz in your mind,
just as you would want it to be!
However, I myself - in spite of disappointments - do not
regret returning to my city, don't forget, I was born there and I spent the
first 16 years there, such crucial years of my life!
I was simply homesick! After Bucharest, after the lush
Caribbean island, after my half century in Israel! As I once said to
Mimi:
no matter what, I am a product of this city and what it made
me!

I remember watching my children with their friends, friends
they had from kindergarten throughout school and I envied them their roots,
their knowing where they belong.
My own roots start there, in my native city, and after
that...it got quite complicated!
