<x-flowed>Dear Friends:

Your list owner and co-list owner are writing to each person sending
in "off topic" posts, but we are doing so off-list. We ask everyone
to have some patience as we get by this recent controversy. I've
heard privately from some of you who find the off-topic posts are of
interest, while others wish to see only on-topic posts, and that is
the reason they joined the list.

I do not wish to act as a "censor" for the list - but I'd like to
remind everyone they can send messages on any subject they like and
to anyone they like, but PLEASE send only "on-topic" messages to our
list address.

It goes without saying that we must show the utmost in courtesy and
respect to each other. Derogatory comments will not be tolerated.

I include the information below so we all have the same understanding
of what is "on-topic":

From-
http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/sadgura/Czernlistserv.html

You will find this statement:
"Members of Czernowitz-L are interested in the genealogy and history
of the Jewish community of Czernowitz, and the nearby shtetl,
Sadgura."

Also:

"You'll be amazed by the international flavor as well as the breadth
of knowledge and experience of the group. Some of us have visited
Czernowitz, and others are planning to go in the future. We are also
lucky that some of our members bring with them the knowledge of
Czernowitz that comes from either having been born there or having
lived there for a period of time."

Please do not respond to the list if you would like to discuss this
further. Send your comments to Carl Ulrich <culrich_at_incentre.net>
and myself. On the other hand, if you have further comments or
questions regarding the genealogy and history of our ancestral towns,
by all means post to the list right away.
