Hi Lucca and Czernowitzers...

You can address Lucca's problem is several ways. Perhaps the easiest is to
look among your friends and find one who is willing to scan the photographs
for you. Or, there are commercial services that will scan the photos for you
and put them onto a CD. You can then copy them off the CD and attach them to
email messages or send me the CD. In Vancouver for example, the large drug
store chains have this service available in their photography departments.
You can also have the photos copied and send me the copies (not the
originals for obvious reasons) and I will scan them and return them to you.
Another possibility is, if you have a digital camera and tripod, is to
photograph the photographs with the camera. It's kind of tricky to get the
set up and the lighting right, but it does give acceptable results with a
little practice.

All of that said, always choose the highest resolution options when creating
electronic copies. In processing what you send me for the website, I can
adjust the picture and file size as appropriate. But if the quality isn't
there to begin with, there's not much to work with and the results will be
poor. Lucca, the ball is in your court.

Best,
jerome
