[Cz-L] RECENT SUCCESS STORY

Dear Siggers: I have been researching my BROOKENTHAL/BRUCKENTHAL Family =
History for 20 years. In 1988 I spoke to a women, born in Czernowitz, =
living in Toledo, Ohio, USA. During our discussion about the city, she =
mentioned to me that she remembers a BRUCKENTHAL Bakery near her home in =
Czernowitz. I have since been trying to get information about the =
Bakery. I sent the following message to JewishGen, July 28, 2004: " Dear =
Jewish Genners: I have been researching my BRUCKENTHAL Family from =
Czernowitz for many years. I ask PLEASE, the next JG member or =
Czernowitz-L member going to Czernowitz, try to find information about a =
Leyb BRUCKENTHAL who owned a Bakery there in the 1930's. On September =
13, 2004, I received an e-mail I have been waiting for a long time from =
Ms. Hedwig Brener living in Haifa, ISRAEL, with following message. "Dear =
Family Brookenthal, I was for a month in USA, so excuse my late answer. =
Until 1931 I was living in the Herrengasse No. 10 A, my father was the =
late lawyer Dr. Adolf Langhaus. So we lived just vis-a-vis the Cafe =
Europe, on the corner of the DR.Rothgasse was the Bakery BRUCKENTHAL, =
where my mother bought every morning crispy "KAISERSEMMEL" AND =
"MOHNKIPFEL." I remember Mr. Bruckenthal very well, he was not very =
tall, a bit roundly. He had a son, an engineer, who married a classmate =
of mine, Dora Wechser & emigrated to Venezuela or Ecuador."
             I thank Ms. Brener for this information and to know that =
there really was a Bruckenthal Bakery in Czernowitz. I will continue =
trying to find information about my family in Czernowitz.
