Correction: it should read "plaintive" and not "plainful"
How could I ever make such a mistake?

I left Czernowitz in 1946 and spent half a year in Suceava. I was
utterly and completely homesick. By that time I was already a rather
good musician (piano and accordion) and I used to compose a text and
steal the music from some song, usually a russian one. To the melody
of a plainful russian tango, I wrote:
