Dear Chernvitsi friends,
I've found it interesting reading the thoughts of many of you
regarding the request
by the Chernvitsi City Council member to use materials from the
website that could enhance their 600th anniversary celebrations. I
can understand the variety perspectives of course.
I see it as a rare opportunity and surprise gift to those of us who
have provided information pertaining to Czernowitz's past. At last
someone values and wants the remembrances of even the Jewish
community for the purpose of recreating a sense of the times and
"spirit" that was the Czernowitz of your youth and in my case, my
father's who worked there.
Our individual contributions to the Czernowitz web site that Jerome
Schatten saves and displays so beautifully is a wonderful byproduct
to share with others. In my opinion it's free Public Relations that
perhaps some day can reap unexpected benefits.
I assume that any material used will provide the name of the source.
I am proud to be a member of this Group,
Jeanne Blitzer Andelman
