Dear All,

If any of you know of a suitable site he might want to check and inform us
all - feel free, of course, to do so (an hotel, another conference center
which might be appropriate, etc).

Subject: [Cz-L] Cz. - Bukowiner meeting

On the eve of Yom Kippur I better repent of my sins (gluttony?)
and return to preparations for the meeting.

I have received no further suggestions regarding the date
of the meeting and only one suggestion about the name.
It seems that most people would like the meeting to be held in Tel-Aviv
or vicinity. Danny Alon is looking into the possibility of having it in
Herzlia, Tel-Aviv and vicinity. Those who will commute to the meeting from
their homes in other parts of Israel, can be picked up at the train station
by a limousine or minibus.
He will not be able to get full price quotes from the hotels until after
Sukkot and even then, I imagine that the price per room as well as the price
for the use of a conference room will depend on how many of us stay at the
specific hotel.

Danny has contacted these hotels:

In Herzlia: Daniel, Hasharon and Dan

In Tel Aviv: Carlton, Hilton, Dan Panorama, David Intercontinental,
Sheraton Tel Aviv,

Ramat Gan: Optima and Sheraton City Tower

If any of you have particularly good or bad experiences with any
of these hotels, please let us know.

Danny has also contacted Beit Hatfuzot and Yad Vashem to see whether
they are willing to host an exhibition of documents, photographs
and other memorabilia we would provide. They are not. They are also
not willing to provide us a conference room free of charge.
Yad Vashem will probably be willing to organize a special program for us.

I know that the occasional meetings organized by the World Organization
Of Bukowina Jews, take place at the Zionist Organization Headquarters
in Tel-Aviv. Would someone volunteer to check, whether we could hold our
meeting there?

It seems that most of those who intend to participate in the meeting, would
prefer to discuss and vote on the major issues before we set up a committee
to put our decisions into action.

Please vote yes or no, on the following:

1. The meeting will be called: "Czernowitz and Bukowina Reunion 2007"
2. The date of the meeting is March 26 - March 29, 2007
3. The meeting will be held in the Tel-Aviv - Herzlia area.
4. We will try to obtain group rates for those staying at he hotel
at which we hold the meeting.

Please send your answer to the Cz.-List by October 8th.
On the subject line of your message, write: (meeting, vote)

At this time I would also like to ask everyone to send us further
suggestions about the content and format of the meeting,
propose speakers to be invited
and voice any ideas or concerns they may have.

I will draw up a list of all suggestions, ideas and concerns,
those I have received so far and those I will get during the next
week and then we shall vote on them.

Gmar Chatima Tova,

Mimi
