I have received some amendments to the "proposals for the meeting",
I sent you on Oct. 8th and some further questions have surfaced.

Nathan Gross would like to improve his proposals #B2 and #B7.
He writes:

> as so many forests in
> northern Israel were burnt down during the last "Lebanon War", there's a
> vast activity here to re-plant trees, financed by commercial and
> philanthropic bodies. I think it would be the right time, during the
> Bukovina reunion, to combine the trip to the north with planting trees and,
> at the same time, founding a "Bukovina Forest" - a site where all of us and
> our children would go occasionally to remember and tell about our heritage.
> I can start inquiring at Keren-Kayemet how this can be done (location,
> costs, logistics, naming etc.) and I can also try and engage an army unit (a
> tank brigade), who participated in the last war(s) to participate and help.
> This can enhance the significance of the event!

Nathan further suggests that the trip to northern Israel, including
the tree planting and meeting at Teffen with Steff Wertheimer, take place
during the 3 days of the reunion.

In my opinion the three days of the reunion should be devoted to talks
and discussions about Czernowitz and Bukowina and the only excursions
which should be taken during those 3 days, should be to any museums
(such as Yad Vashem) who will be willing to set up exhibitions or
lectures related to Czernowitz and Bukowina Jewry.

Another question which has surfaced is:
At what point do we involve the "World Organization of Bukowina Jews"
in the discussions and decisions about the meeting.

My own opinion is that we definitely would like all members of the W.O.B.J.
to participate in the meeting, that we would welcome advice, suggestions
and help and I hope that all members of the list who have contact with
other Bukowiner, particularly those active at the W.O.B.J., will keep
them informed and urge them to participate in our deliberations.

Please consider these additional suggestions and questions.
If anyone has further changes, questions and/or comments to make,
please send them to the list as soon as possible.

I will revise the list of suggestions as needed and hope we can vote
on all of them no later than October 21st.
