Dear Group,
I received a letter from I. Chiva, French anthropologist, originally from
Jassy,
who was a close friend of Paul Celan in France. He is in permanent
contact with Mr. Bertrand Badiou who works with Eric Celan for the
translation in French of the
intellectual heritage of Paul Celan. He currently completes the translation
of the
letters of Jugeborg Bachman and he has found in these letters that, during
six weeks, in
July 1951, Paul Celan lived in the house of a Doctor W. Adler, 14 villa
Chaptal, Levallois-Perret. Nobody know who was this Dr. W. Adler. Perhaps
one of you have an idea? Was he a
Czernowitzer? I would be very happy if I could help I. Chiva and Bertrand
Badiou
to perce this mystery.
Chana tova and hag sameah
Florence Heymann
