Dear Carol,
Thanks for telling the members of the list, your thoughts
about the proposed museum and the omission of the holocaust
from it's displays.
I particularly value your opinion as a non-Jew on this matter.
We are often overly sensitive in our fear of Anti-Semitism
and this fear can go both ways. Either seeing Anti-Semitism
where there is none, or an eagerness not to mention the holocaust,
because of the fear that it will antagonize, non-Jews.
Reading your opinion on this issue, strengthens my belief, that
While the museum and the proposed exhibition should not be devoted
solely, to the holocaust as experienced by the Jews of Czernowitz,
neither should it be hidden or effaced.
