We have heard from Mr. Zissels, through his assistant Anna Lenchkovska,
that they will devote one wall in the opening exhibition of the Jewish
museum to the deportations during the Russian period 1940-41 and
the beginning of the holocaust. I am not sure what she means by:
> beginning of the holocaust
She asks for our participation in creating the displays of the period
of the holocaust. I suggest that those of us who have copies of documents
issued by the Rumanian authorities during the war, exemplifying the
discriminatory laws against us and photographs showing us wearing
the yellow star, photographs of the ghetto or the deportations
to Transnistria, send scans of these photographs to Natalya Shevchenko,
either through Anna Lenchovska, Josef Zissels or Maita Prout (if she is
willing to transmit them).
Would someone also volunteer to assemble all numerical facts about
the Russian deportations and the Rumanian authorities' actions, as well as
their effect, during the period 1940-1944 and make them available to Mrs.
Shevchenko?
Best regards,
Mimi
