The 600 year anniversary exhibition is proceeding ahead. Natalia Shevchenko
has been out of town for the last couple of weeks,
but will be back next week. So I will be able to give you an update then.
It may seem that nothing has been happening, but Natalia has been hard at
work. I haven't wanted to send any misinformation, and therefore await her
return. Sorry not to have more definitive news, but I at least wanted to
let you know that the project is alive and well.

Meanwhile I have been speaking with Shoshana and the City about the cemetery
restoration project because I identified a funding source. Unfortunately I
just heard
from them that they no longer fund cemetery restoration projects, so I don't
know if it will happen. The Peace Corps has a program whereby funds from
individuals can be pooled and a grant made for a particular project. If it
is something you are interested in pursuing let me know and I'll learn the
details of how such "Partnership Grants" work, how much is needed from
outside (i.e., other than the city) sources, etc.

Cold and snowy here in Chernivtsi, after a warm second half of January.
