[Cz-L] California Czernowitz conference

Hello, all --

Some months ago Miriam Taylor and I had communicated briefly about a
Yiddish/Czernowitz conference to be held in October in Southern
California. At that time she requested another copy of the
announcement, but I could not locate it.
Just this week the announcement I'd printed out came to light again,
and I wish to pass along its information for the benefit of those of
you who would consider attending. Aside from being of interest in
general, the conference may well have the potential to garner support
for the list's censure of the Czernowitz Museum Director's plans to
omit reference to a critical aspect of Jewish history in the city of
our ancestry, as the list has discussed in recent days. Here is the
basic conference information:

International Association of Yiddish Clubs, 12th Conference:
"Czernowitz: 100 Years Later"

The IAYC Conference will take place in La Jolla, California [ this is
in San Diego, California, 92037]
and will include the dates of October 24-27, 2008.
