Nobody has blamed Ms. Schevchenko, whether she may be Jewish or not. Not
as far as we know.
As to Mr. Zissels, nobody has blamed him for being antisemitic, where
did you get this from? He might be Jewish and an important man, however
he seems
to be more of a politician and following his own interests or/and the
interests of others. And the funding goes through him...
Of course, each one of us had thought of it : is it better a museum
without holocaust, or no museum at all , and a wise decision was taken
by Jerome and Bruce.
Jewish history should not be a negotiable item in internal Ukrainian
political games, it should not be taken hostage.
Mr. Zissels's argument "he doesn't want to show death" is ridiculous, he
is splitting the history in half.
And what will some visitors ask afterwards: "where are all these people
now?" Will he answer : we'll show this next year"? Quite a few
non-Jewish elderly people whom we met in Czernowitz know about the
atrocitites committed in the war, it is not spoken of officially, but
the younger generation has yet to become acquainted with the truth
though a comprehensive exhibition.
This is our opinion.
