[Cz-L] Letter from Prof. Moskovich , regarding Mr. J. Zissels

I received this letter from Prof. Moskovich, which
according to his wishes, I am sending on to our Cz.-List:


Dear Mrs. Taylor,
I spoke yesterday in Jerusalem with Mr. Zisels.
He told me that he intends to include in the museum exhibition material on
the first period of the Shoah as described in Mrs.Lenchenkova's letter.
Moreover, he has done already much for the Shoah Remembrance in Czernowitz
and Ukraine ( e.g. the monument in Bila for the victims of the first Nazi
murders of 1941,next to the bridge over Pruth in Czernowitz, a series of
actions of cleaning the old Czernowitz cemetery and memorial events since
1988,et.c) ,perhaps more than any other Czernowitzian.
Therefore he regards questioning his intentions or his record in this
respect as a sad misunderstanding.
He added that initiative and active participation of the Bucovinian Jewish
diaspora in collecting and sending in material on the Shoah in Czernowitz,
as well as funds, may lead to the creation in the building of Bejs Tahara of
the cemetery of a special museum on the Shoah,as envisioned by a former plan
drawn by sponsors from Austria.
 
 As Mr.Zisels is in my opinion in fact doing more than anybody else for
the remembrance of Czernowitz Jews and for the wellbeing of Jews remaining
today in Czernowitz ( getting funding and negotiating with the authorities,
spending his time, energy and own money for these purposes) I think that he
deserves all the support and appreciation that we can give him.
May I ask you to send my letter to the members of the ehpes group.
