I agree with Mimi, the Rumanian route is good - fly into Bucharest (an
interesting city for tours including Jewish sites, some shopping and
cuisine), and by plane to Suceava, and road to Czernowitz. Have done it and
all went very smoothly. Just need the correct visas and patience at the
Rumania-Ukraine border for the inevitable passport/visa checks.
