Asher, you are right. Let's change the last two lines to:

In grateful remembrance from former Czernowitz Jews and their descendants.

Question: Shall we say Chernivtsi, or Cernauti or Czernowitz?
Could we say Chernivtsi in Ukrainian, Cernauti in Romanian and Czernowitz
in English or German?
