Dear all,
If you read thoroughly the "Spovedania" of the late Dr. Traian Popovici
you'll see that he estimated that the number of Jews left in Cz. was higher
(I repeat higher) than 20,000 (see page 18 of the original Romanian version
of the "Spovedania"). The figure of 19,689 is a kind of official figure
resulting from a census carried out in December 1941 and it almost probably
is not precise and does not include those hidden or living with false
documents.
