Hi Mimi and Group:
I received an email from the same person as well, and I'd like to
share a portion of my reply with the group. First of all, an
excellent web site concerning the Jewish History and Genealogy of the
Gura Humorului Jewish community can be found at:
http://humora.tripod.com
Vital records for the period 1857-1909 can be found at the State
Archives in Suceava. I would presume that more recent records can be
found in the local town hall, but I don't know that for sure, nor do
I know how easy they would be to access.
When I visited G-H in 1998, there were fewer than 10 Jews living in the town.
Best to all, and Shabbat Shalom,
Bruce
