Dear all,
Somehow it reminds me of a market-place to discuss the number of persons
Popovici saved. For a commemoration plaque I believe it should be a clear
20,000 even if it is not accurate to the last man, which it will
probably never be. The exact number is irrelevant in this context. The
way he acted is
more than relevant.
As to Selma, Mimi as you know, my mother is directly related to her, the
fathers were cousins, I had an inquiry recently from this school
project, Christian Hermann made the recommendation.
Let's hope that the Popovici project takes more shape soon. My
suggestion as to the wording was not comprehensive enough, I just wanted
it as short as possible,
but a bit more should be said about this unique man. The question is:
what will the Cz. authorities allow - and of course, who will pay and
who will decide whether a
plaque on the house or a statue. I think a statue is at present not so
realistic, but we can try.
