Hooray for Hardy!
I was bereft to read that the Yiddish thread was to be curtailed as
irrelevant to Czernowitz list.
As one who is interested but not involved in the Popovici correspondence and
has no current travel plans to visit Czernowitz, suddenly the Yiddish posts
caught my fancy.
The lists of Yiddish expressions fascinated me, and had my 90-year-old
mother giggling at the Shabbat table last week. There were words on that
list that she hadn't heard used since 1941 when she was deported to
Bershad. It gave her the opportunity to entertain me with more stories of her
youth.
So please, Mr Moderator, be open and flexible, as I believe the language(s)
of Czernowitz are indeed a most relevant and important part of our shared
history and culture
