Greetings,
I will be attending my first International Association of Yiddish Clubs
conference in October, which this year takes place in beautiful La Jolla,
California. I am looking forward to sharing this time with friends and
making new ones. All of us, no doubt, share a great affection for the
Yiddish language, culture, and--well, all things Yiddish.
I am working with Fishl Kutner on a process that will allow me to audio
record the plenary sessions, as well as some of the lectures that will be
given. I will have to pick and choose which ones to record according to my
own interests and needs, as at times there will be five lectures being given
at the same time and I only have so many recorders. Will any of you be at
the conference? If so, please let me know.
I will definitely try to record the lectures that have to do with Czernowitz
and transcribe these recordings into English text. I am also hoping to place
the text for these and other lectures online within my site, and hopefully
audio excerpts of the lectures too. This is all assuming that the speakers
will be so kind as to permit me to do so.
