Oy, a glass, noch. My late father would put a half-filled glass of
water on the window-sill to ensure the house was protected during a bad
thunderstorm. And all items capable of having a "rottes bendle" (thin
red ribbon) tied to them would be sure to sport one, to ward off the
evil eye. Very Kabbalah!
