I read Eduard & Gabriele Weissmann's comments about BOCANCI in Cz-L
Archives .
I can add something about this word, may be if you want to send it, I
don't know how to answer it in the site.

The name BOCANCI, came from the verb "a bocanii", to stamp, to tread
hard, with noise.
The noise what the bocanci do, when you put them on, is the infinitive
"a bocanii".
