The appendix "Zhe" in Yiddish.
(From the Ukrainean )
By adding the "Zhe " to a verb it becomes a plea, a supplication.
" Sug-zhe mir " is - please , tell me.
" Schluf-zhe " please sleep - sings the mother in a lullaby.
But not only , "What did he tell you " is " Wus hot er dir gesugt "
but we used to say : " Wu-zhe hot er dir gesugt ? "
Something like : "What, then , did he tell you ?
Spicy talk,
Hardy
