Hello,
Just a short note: the well-known song referred to recently, was a
popular Italian song, probably from Veneto, which was taken up by
Paganini under the name "The Carnival of Venice" for violin and piano -
he wrote 20 variations on this theme. There is also a version which goes
like this:
Mein Hut, der hat drei Ecken, drei Ecken hat mein Hut...und hät'er nicht
drei Ecken, so wär' er nicht mein Hut.
English:
My hat has three corners, three corners has my hat,...and if he wouldn't
have three corners, then it wouln't be my hat.
Known all over Europe.
